Yesterday was the first of two baby showers for baby James. He is so lucky and he has no idea. Kristen threw the shower at her house. It was great. About 12 of my girlfriends and family came. Thanks to Kristen, Bobbie, Mom, Donna, Gini, Amanda, Whitney, Naomi, Christina, Kellie, Nicki, Sabrina, and Shirley. James got so many nice gifts--diaper pail, pack and play, stroller, diapers, toys, clothes, bumbo seat and more. Here are a few pictures.

My grandmother was supposed to come, but she suffered a stroke on Tuesday. She's been in the hospital since Tuesday evening and will be in rehab probably for a month. It's been a hard week for the family. Gram is doing better and has a better attitude. She is completely aware and cognizant of her surroundings and can crack jokes and tell stories as she usually does. Her left side is completely weak and she will be working to regain strength. We are all praying for her and will be visiting often. Thanks to Jim and Bobbie for spending time with her the past few days. Gram is so excited about little James (as we all are) and can't wait to meet him.
James is doing great. He is punching and kicking and really respondes to voices and music. We are switching to Intown Midwifery for our prenatal and labor/delivery care. We just never were satisfied with AWOG at Piedmont and felt our needs would be met at Intown Midwifery. Our first appointment there is December 6. It feels weird to switch in the third trimester, but it's the right choice.
