Happy Birthday to me!

It's my birthday! What a better time to start blogging (again) than today. I would really like to keep up with this blog, but little James keeps me very busy.

I started back to work part time in June, which is another reason that I have not posted in awhile. I work for Global Energy and Water Consulting. After we were laid off in February, my old boss created this company. We brought our existing clients and contacts with us. It's going good. I'm in between work assignments, so I'd really like to see some of these clients sign the contracts already! I have the time and am ready to put in the hours. (i.e. I need the money)

James is just awesome. He is crawling very well and is pulling up on everything. I love it when he uses me as his jungle gym. He will crawl over to me and start pulling up on my legs, arms, and stomach. He loves to laugh and smile. He has fallen into a fairly predictable routine. He wakes up around 3:00 or 4:00 AM for a middle of the night feeding, then at 7:00 or 7:30 to start the day. I could wean him from the middle of the night feeding, but I just don't have the heart for it. Plus it's hard while I'm breastfeeding. When he's home with me, we eat breakfast together. He usually eats oatmeal and fruit. He loves bananas! We are working on practicing self-feeding, but bananas are hard to grip. He'll play for an hour or so, and then have some milk before his morning nap. He's pretty good about naps at home. He'll nap for 1.5 to 2+ hours. At daycare he only naps for 30-40 minutes at a time. We eat lunch together. He loves sweet potatoes. But he'll eat anything--peas, lima beans, prunes, peaches, applesauce, carrots, and even broccoli. After lunch we'll play for awhile, have milk, and take a nap. And I might take a nap too :) After his PM nap, I like to take a walk. Then we'll all have dinner. I like when Jim feeds James while I can get dinner ready. James lights up when Daddy comes in the room. He loves to play with Daddy. Daddy will give him a bath, give him a bottle and put him to bed.

James goes to school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. He does really good there. I dropped him off this morning and put him in the jumparoo--his favorite! If I'm working, I'll pick him up around 5. If not, 3:30. We have to pay extra for daycare past 3:30.

Jim is doing really well. He is staying so busy. His business is growing and takes a lot of work for him to get his hands around it all. He's hired an assistant, but even that creates a little bit of work.

Here are some pictures of James since the last post.
