Easter

We enjoyed Easter at our new home with Mom, Dad, and Gram. We had Easter brunch with homemade waffles, eggs, orange juice, fresh fruit, ham, soysages, and good company. We were able to eat outside on the back deck; the weather was perfect. Gram gave us beautiful fresh cut flowers and a flowering bush to plant outside. Mom and Dad gave us a starter kitchen herb garden of sage, basil, and thyme. I put the seeds in the pots on Easter and had sprouts three days later! We had such a nice time with everyone and enjoyed spending Easter with family because we had not done so since 2005. We didn't go to Easter service; church on Easter Sunday can be a little overwhelming especially if you are a visitor. Here are some pictures from Easter brunch.

Poor little Josie. We had to give her a sedative so she wouldn't be too much energy while guests were here. She fought the drowsiness for awhile then she succombed to it. She was stumbling around and had droopy eyelids. It's like she had too much champagne! Needless to say, she slept A LOT that afternoon.
After the family left, we went to a different kind of egg hunt. Our friends, Chad and Christina Carter, have an adorable 2 year old boy and they were taking him to an egg hunt that afternoon at Alto Rex, which is a rooftop bar at the Palomar Hotel in Midtown. Sounds strange, right? We thought so too. We met them at the "adult-friendly" egg hunt and sure enough there were kids searching for eggs filled with candy, and adults enjoying beverages on the rooftop bar. It was quite a nice evening!
Otherwise, we are keeping busy with our new jobs, networking, and other stuff. We are running a half marathon in October and are trying to run at least twice a week. Last night we ran around Grant Park for over an hour. The hills are very different here than in Orlando, as in there actually are hills. We registered for the Peachtree Road Race on July 4th and hope we get a number to run in it.
Today Aaron, Jenny and the kids are at the Zoo. They parked behind our house so they were able to see Jim this morning. Hopefully, we'll see them before we go off tonight.
Work is challenging! Friends are great! Family is loved! Life is good.
