I just wanted to make a post about the cute songs James sings and requests for us to sing before it goes in the history books and we forget.
James's birthday was two weeks ago, and we have been enjoying his birthday cake almost nightly ever since. It's like the never ending cake! We had it at his party and sent some to his school and we still had some left. I think we have one small piece left. Anyway, when we have our cake after dinner James always says "Happy Birthday!" and has us sing the birthday song. He likes to sing it too. He sings "Happy Birthday to You" again and again. He hasn't mastered the "Happy Birthday dear James" part yet. He always asks for us to sing it again, but once is enough :)
Every night at bedtime when we lay him in the crib we sing Silent Night. This started over 2 months ago at Christmastime and continues every night. We usually sing it 2-3 times. He loves it. He has started to sing it with us too. He even hits the high notes when we sing "Sleep in heavenly peeeace." He can practically sing it by himself.
James also loves to sing Ring around the Rosie and Wheels on the Bus. It's so cute to see him sing the words and do the motions to the songs too. He must be learning these at school, because we have not taught them to him. Yesterday we sang Wheels on the Bus on the way home from school.
It's so much fun to see and hear him learn this songs. Plus he knows the alphabet song and all his letters. He's so smart! I pray he always is this happy kid he is now.
