If you didn't know it, Jim is completely obsessed with Elvis Presley. He has dressed as the King for three Halloweens (and one Christmas party) and listens to Elvis radio on XM a lot.
This past Sunday we went on an impromptu date to see Elvis Lives tribute concert at the Cobb Energy Center. It was really really fun. Three tribute artists went through Elvis' career through song and movies. We were definitely younger than most in the crowd. I told Jim that he forgot to bring his cardigan. We saw a couple of Elvis impersonators in the audience and more than a few men with Elvis style hair.
We had great seats--middle floor level right next to the sound booth. We were the only two seats in our row. The Cobb Energy Center is very nice.
The show was great. The entertainers did a great job impersonating Elvis. They sounded "just like him" as Jim said. During the movie segment, "Ann-Margaret" also performed with Elvis for Viva Las Vegas songs. I love Viva Las Vegas!
It was great to get out because we don't know how many impromptu date nights we have left. If any!
