What a lovely weekend

We had a very nice weekend. Saturday was rather quiet with Jim being out at a legal seminar most of the day. I took care of a couple of errands and watched The Help while he was out.

The movie was outstanding! I had read the book last spring and was excited to see the movie. I laughed, I cried. Viola Davis was amazing! She pulled at my emotions and I cried without expecting to. Hilly Holbrook was an exceptional villain. It makes you wonder what happened to the real Hilly Holbrooks of the 1960s South. Did they ever change? Or are they bitter and resentful? The movie was definitely female centered with no real male leads. It was one of the better movies I'd seen in awhile.

Jim and I watched Ides of March last Thursday which was also pretty good. It's not for the kids! The story involves a young, enthusiastic campaign staffer (Ryan Gosling) that gets sucked into very dirty politics during a presidential campaign. The candidate is played by George Clooney. The movie will make you think twice about any candidate.

Saturday after Jim's seminar we went to one of our old favorite restaurants--R. Thomas. I've had a hard time convincing Jim to go there since we've returned to Atlanta. The restaurant is known for its health food and is very popular. It was delicious! Later we went to my big sis from Phi Mu Becky Scheel's Chinese New Year party. She lives in Grant Park.

On Sunday I ventured to the Dekalb County Farmer's Market. That place is awesome but always requires me to get psyched up to go. It can be VERY overwhelming. It's generally crowded on the weekends and the selection is over the top. That afternoon we walked the dogs to the park! I wore my boot for my stress fracture and did great! I'm more ready to get rid of the boot than to go into labor that's for sure. I'm tired of not being able to walk as much as I want to.

The weekend was relaxing and recharging. James will arrive any day now. I think he'll be a February baby!
